ABOUT US
We're so happy you're here
Closed on Sundays was born from two photographers who first met during a photo walk over a decade ago. That day turned into countless shoots together, and what started as a chance meeting grew into a partnership; both creative and personal. For us, art comes first. Our work is rooted in creativity, collaboration, and honesty, balancing two perspectives into one cohesive vision.

Joy Masi
Photography began as a way for me to step out of my introverted world, quickly becoming my voice when words fell short. That passion has grown from photographing friends to capturing intimate weddings, personal projects, and travels across the country. My style is fluid, I let light, subject, and environment guide the story, influenced by the quiet intimacy of Vivian Maier and the deep connections of Mary Ellen Mark. Whether experimenting with prisms or traveling with my mobile studio, Bus 9 to Nowhere, I find magic in collaboration and stillness. One pivotal moment on Lookout Mountain in Colorado affirmed my dream of uniting art, travel, and connection—a journey that later earned me the Camden FireWorks Art Through Perseverance Grant.

I first picked up a camera to photograph cars, but my passion for photography deepened after studying the craft in school, where I discovered the works of Richard Avedon and Annie Leibovitz. As The 7th Member, I’ve developed a style that’s minimalist and straightforward with a touch of flair, often shaped by the interplay of light and location. I’m drawn to the unpredictability of film, working across formats from Polaroids to medium format to 3D wigglegrams, chasing the imperfections that make each image feel alive. One unforgettable moment in Baltimore—when an unplanned frame over dinner became one of my favorite photographs—reminded me that authenticity and spontaneity often create the strongest images, and that pursuit continues to shape my vision today.
As a duo, we bring different eyes and approaches to every project, but what unites us is our commitment to storytelling and connection. During a shoot, we balance and challenge each other, bouncing ideas until the image becomes something greater than either of us could create alone. Our clients don’t just get two photographers, they get two perspectives working in harmony, capturing angles and emotions that build a fuller, more compelling story.
We’re drawn to artists, lovers, and dreamers who want more than just a photo; they want an experience, a collaboration, and art that lingers like memory. Whether we’re photographing a musician, an intimate couple, or a styled portrait in the middle of a cityscape, our aim is always the same: to make images that feel honest, intentional, and unforgettable.
Closed on Sundays isn’t just a name, it’s a reminder that our work is about slowing down, creating with intention, and honoring the art-first approach that brought us together. Our vision is simple: to grow as artists, deepen our connections, and continue crafting images that speak for themselves long after the shutter clicks.
